Our CenterProgram MissionOur mission is to provide a fun, loving, caring, and stimulating environment that meets the needs of children and nurtures their growth and development (physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and language development). Our goal is to provide the highest of quality childcare while striving to meet NAEYC educational standards.
Program PhilosophyWe believe children develop optimally within a community of trusting relationships in an authentic and nurturing environment. Respecting that the family is the first teacher, our collaboration with the child and their family is essential. Integral to our philosophy is recognizing that children are competent learners who develop socially, emotionally, physically, creatively, and cognitively in an integrated fashion. Children have an innate curiosity and as active learners they construct their understanding of the world through their social interactions with peers, adults, and materials.
Center Goals The primary goal for the Hollister Child Development Center is to provide a safe and rich learning experience designed to meet both their individual and developmental needs. The teaching team plans developmentally appropriate experiences that represent and reflect a commitment to children’s positive growth socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and creatively.
CurriculumOur Infant and toddler programs use the PITC (Programs for Infant / Toddler Caregiving) as well as continuity of care where a staff member may travel with a group of children from infancy to toddlerhood. Our Preschool programs use the play based and emergent curriculum to provide a learning rich environment that is child directed and teacher supported. Our School age program has a homework club that helps children with their homework on a daily bases and provides academic and enrichment programming support for our oldest children in our program.
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)Hollister Child Development Center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) offered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and serves meals at no separate charge to all enrolled children. The reimbursement received from the CACFP helps with our food costs, and therefore, enables us to keep our fees for care as low as possible.
